CITY OF ADRIAN

To the qualified electors of the City of Adrian, County of Lenawee:

NOMINATING PETITIONS FOR MAYOR AND CITY COMMISSIONER

The terms of the Mayor, Three City Commissioner seats and a Partial (2 year) term for City Commissioner will expire in November of this year.

City Officials whose present term of office will terminate this year are: Mayor Chuck Jacobson and Commissioners Heldt, Roberts, Strayer and Valentine. The term of office for Mayor is two years. The Commissioner candidates will serve a term of four years.

Nominating petitions for City Offices are available at the Adrian City Clerk’s Office, 2nd floor, Adrian City Hall, Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. until 4:30 p.m.

Candidates must file nominating petitions together with an Affidavit of Identity and Receipt of Filing along with a Statement of Organization Form for Candidate Committees with the City Clerk no later than 4:00 p.m. E.D.S.T., Tuesday, April 23, 2019.

To be valid, nominating petitions must contain the signatures of at least fifty but not more than one hundred registered electors of the City of Adrian. An elector may sign only one petition for the office of Mayor and no more than three petitions for City Commissioner. Only those signatures of registered electors of the City of Adrian will be counted.

In the event that no more than two candidates file for each office to be filled, the August Primary Election may be eliminated and only the General Election in November will be required.

The August Primary Election is tentatively scheduled for August 6th and the General City Election will be held November 5th of this year.
